The doors in 7 of our labs, EE/CS 4-250, 4-240, 2-170, 2-172, Lind 24, CivE 230, and ME 308 do not meet fire code. These doors are often propped open with door stops and we are getting some heat that this is a fire code violation. We would like to install electronic door holders that are tied into the fire alarm system. The cost will include installing conduit, boxes, wire pulls and fire alarm interface cards.

The current server in itlabs is 4 years old and should be replaced. The replacement server will act as our licenses server, file server, DNS server, samba server, ldap server, Kerberos server, and email server. This new machine supports Zones and Logical Domains which allow us to partition it into sever logical server (hardware partitioning, not just Virtual Machines). Sun T1000, 8-core ultraSPARC T1 CPU and 16 GB RAM.
